Over the past few years I have gotten into reading Steampunk. I didn't actually know there was a name for it to begin with. I actually seek these types of books out when I hit the bookstores and have found some pretty amazing books. But here's a description if you are curious.
Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s.[1]Steampunk involves a setting where steam power is still widely used—usually Victorian era Britain or "Wild West"-era United States—that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology, or futuristic innovations as Victorians might have envisioned them, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc. (Borrowed from WIki)
I found this challenge via @Dtanton's blog Reading Challenges in 2012. The challenge is being hosted over at Dark Faerie Tales and you should join in. I already have a few of these...I'll put them in Italics so you can see what I own. I will re-read them this year and mark them off.
2012 Selection List:
20. Ironskin by Tina Connolly
34. Heart’s Magic by Gail Dayton
Are you part of any Reading Challenges? Let me know I'd like to check them out!
