Wilco posters

So just to show you what I ended up buying for my posters here are links if you'd like to check them out.

This first one was an added bonus when I told the artist how much I liked it when I saw it but had already sent my money...well he sent me one anyway :)

Next is the one from the 5 nights of shows in Chicago...I went to Saturday so the only one I bought was the 2nd one over from the left, and they all have blue borders so I dont know that I'll get matting on it. This is the poster I had the whole band sign on the Friday night in St Louis.

This one and the next one are my favorites for the artistry on them and I am excited about getting them framed :)

Here's the St Louis poster...and to understand it you'd have had to travel to the Arch at least once, because this is the view of Illinois you see, it's to the South of the Casino Queen. This is the poster I had signed on Saturday night by the whole band.

And after all that, I'd show you the shirt but it's not for sale on Wilco's site yet, so I may have to take a photo for you. It has a spelling error :) but I like it anyway. And I'm not one for buying shirts at concerts but heck why not.

Anyway if you are looking for art the artist is John Lackey and his artwork is amazing. He's from Kentucky and I'm hoping at some point to meet him, hopefully at a Wilco concert, as he's a big fan of them as well. Here's some of his new paintings..if I had a house and funds I'd buy a bunch of his stuff...it's great!

You should get this stuff framed, Mel. Esp the first one. Consider matting too, amiga. It costs a bit, but trust me, it's always worth it. Definitely lights up a room now and again.

Yup, that's one of the things I'm saving money for is framing and matting. I'll probably get them all matted but the Residency one since it has a pretty neat blue border that I'd rather see! :)

White matting always ages better. But that's just my opinion.

It's funny cuz I just had a vintage poster of the band X (my Wilco, heh) framed, a limited edition that Charlotte found of a show I attended with Ayesha. Totally worth it.

You also might want to check out the online radio station www.kexp.org, from my hometown. They play a ton of eclectic stuff.

I will probably go with white...although on my St Louis poster I might go with light blue to match the sky..if I can find the right tint of blue to match. We'll see though. I guess I'll see when I get to wherever I'm framing them at. I'm not sure about going to Ben Franklin Crafts or Michaels. I might go to a local artist and see how he frames his. I want them done nicely.
